Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training – For individuals seeking employment in the law enforcement field, this is the starting block: the Basic Police Academy. This program consists of 600 hours of required training and 40 hours of additional training. Students who successfully complete the program will receive their Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Basic Certification. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.

Students receive additional training and/or certification in the following areas:

· Computers in Law Enforcement–Forensics Crime
· Hazardous Materials Awareness–Incident Command System
· Ethics
· Drug Interdiction
· Gangs/Cults
· Homeland Security
