Purpose:  To be used for scholarship awarded to one eighth grade student that meets the criteria established by the Academic Booster Club.  The student will receive $500.00.

 

Limits:  $500.00 will be awarded to the selected student at the time of graduation from Sandusky High School to be used in furthering their education in college, technical school or other recognized training institution.  The student must have demonstrated exemplary citizenship and good moral character during his/her high school years.

Purpose:  For graduate(s) each year to receive award, demonstrating talent in the fine arts field and who is interested in pursuing further education in such field.  If no student qualified in field of fine arts, award may go to student of promise in field of music or dance.

 

Limits:  Not to exceed net income in any given year or any accumulation of such interest earned from original principal amount of $225,000.00.  All awards are renewable for three (3) additional years to full time students in good standing as defined by their training institution.   If no students selected for period of five (5) consecutive years, fund principal and accumulated interest shall then be transferred to Toledo Museum of Art for scholarship disbursement.

Limits:  Income only.  If at any time for any reason the educational purpose of this gift becomes impossible to carry out, the funds shall revert to the Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation.

Purpose:   To assist needy and worthy student planning a 4-year degree at an accredited university.  Needy to be defined as “student whose family’s gross annual income to not exceed $45,000.00” and should be considered before all others.  Worthy to be defined as “student with 2.25 GPA or higher.”  Student should be of good moral character and must have participated on the swimming team, as did Mr. Harbrecht, or be a letter winning student trainer in the sport, and/or a member of the music department for a minimum of 3 years.  A student pursuing nursing or medical degree shall be given greater preference.  A student choosing Ohio Wesleyan University and meeting all of other criteria should be given preference, provided that their financial need is greater.  If these qualifications cannot be met, no award should be made for that year, without first consulting Mr. Joseph Harbrecht or Mrs. Judith Harbrecht Hill.

Purpose:  Scholarship to be used for the continued education of a worthy male SHS graduate, chosen by Mr. John E. Schumm from the class of 2006, for payments to recipient of tuition fees, room and board, support, maintenance, and any such expenses at a college of his choice to study in the professional, scientific, or liberal arts fields.

 

Limits:  Payments not to exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the principal amount of the fund in any one academic year for as many years and as many degrees as this young man chooses to pursue until fund is depleted.  If at any time the selectee becomes unworthy or unreliable, stops attending college, or if cumulative GPA at college falls below 3.0 at the end of any quarter or semester, then scholarship support will be discontinued, payments to recipient will stop, and he shall be disqualified for consideration of any future payments from fund.  In such an event, another young man shall be selected in the same manner and be subject to the same conditions until the fund is totally depleted.
