The 38th Annual Sandusky High School Achievement Awards Program
The 38th annual Sandusky High School Achievement Awards Program was held this week. Sandusky High School students in grades 9-12 were recognized for their accomplishments in art, music, theater, athletics, attendance, career tech, leadership, and community service. This year, Sandusky High School seniors accepted nearly $240,000 in community-based merit scholarships! Below is a brief summary of some of Sandusky High Schools' most prestigious awards:

The Class of 2017 "Top Ten"
Elizabeth Boissoneault, Alexa Cipolla, Brookttanna Fox, DeJae Lanier, Lauren Martello, Ny'Asia Newell, Destiny Ritchey, Samantha Schmiedl, Sterling Sharp, and Sydney Smith

Perfect Attendance Award - Awarded to seniors who have not missed a day of school during all four years

Career Tech Student of the Year Award

The Stauffer Ward
- Established by former Sandusky High School English and Latin teacher Mary Stauffer to provide "representation for the outstanding efforts of young women who have excelled at SHS in academics, leadership, and athletics."

The Malinovsky Award
- Established in the name of the late respected Vic Malinovsky to be named to a senior boy who "has demonstrated academic excellence, athletic prowess, citizenship sensitivity, leadership capabilities, and exemplary character."

SHS & SMS Physicals at Firelands Regional Medical Center (South Campus)
School physicals for Sandusky High School and Sandusky Middle School will be held at Firelands Regional Medical Center (South Campus) on Wednesday, May 31st. There is no cost and physicals will begin at 6:00 pm. Please see the flyers below for information on what will need to be completed and signed by a parent prior to the examination. It is recommended that students wear loose, comfortable clothing - preferably shorts and t-shirts. For questions, contact the Athletic Office at 419.984.1074.
