2nd & 7 Foundation
Recently, several Sandusky High school Students participated in the 2nd and 7 Foundation program at elementary schools in the district. The 2nd and 7 foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. The mission of the foundation is to promote reading, by providing books and positive role models to kids while encouraging athletes of the community to pay it forward. Taylor Vargo, a standout member of The Ohio State University Varsity swim team, introduced the Buckeye based program to Sandusky City Schools. The student-athletes read to second graders at Hancock and Ontario Elementary Schools. Each student received a book for their summer enrichment and enjoyment.
